MEETING REMINDER For Friday October 12, 2018
TRICARE Retiree Dental & Vision Plans
The TRICARE Retiree Dental Program officially ends December 31, 2018.
The replacement for the current TRICARE Retiree Dental program will be the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Plan (FEDVIP).
On Friday October 12, 2018, a “town hall style” meeting to discuss the multiple dental and vision options for retired TRICARE beneficiaries will be held in the Aircraft Pavilion at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park. The meeting will begin at 3:00 PM and be completed no later than 5:00 PM. CAPT Paul Frost, US Navy Retired, will present the various options for dental and vision plans, explain how to compare plans, and respond to questions from the audience. CAPT Frost is a benefits professional of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), headquartered in Washington, D. C.
If you are confused about your options as a TRICARE Retiree to replace your dental plan or to start a new dental and/or vision plan this is a meeting you do not want to miss as the time frame to enroll in either or both of these plans begins November 12th and ends December 10, 2018. Coverage for these new plans begins January 1, 2019.
Membership in MOAA is not required to attend this meeting as all retired service members and their family members, regardless of rank or service, who are eligible for TRICARE are welcome to attend and participate in this one time only meeting.
Handouts will be provided to take home and there is no cost to attend this meeting. If you plan to attend, please send an RSVP Email to the address listed providing your last name and the number who plan to attend. This response will be used to insure we print sufficient handouts and have adequate seating.
RSVP Email address: email@example.com
Please use SUBJECT: RSVP -FEDVIP
If you currently have specific questions about these new plans please feel free to send those questions to the Email address listed. This will insure that your question(s) will be covered during the 2 hour meeting.
If you are not able to attend this meeting a WEBINAR (Internet based presentation) on this subject will be provided by MOAA through the Internet. To view the webinar a short registration is needed prior to the webinar (October 9th at 1 pm – 2 pm CDT). To register use your Internet browser and enter: https://cc.callinfo.com/registration/#/?meeting=1lshd40guba41&campaign=10y5cu8tcmp0c
The registration will require less than one minute and will allow you to view the webinar on October 9. Those who register for the webinar but then are unable to view the presentation will receive an email within a week that will have a link giving them access to the recorded presentation. This recorded presentation will be available for only 30 days. Just like the town hall meeting on October 12, membership in MOAA is not required to register for or view the webinar.
